This is my first helm, a Bascinet. The helm itself is made from mild steel, while the bar grill is made from stainless steel. I got it from King's Lance , and added the chin strap and interior padding myself. (With much thanks to Christopher Blackthorn of Calontir) This picture will soon be replaced. I have since covered the exposed edge of the blue camp foam with a thick fabric. When it's on, it looks much more "in period"!
